The Catholic Parishes of South Washington County (CPSWC) joins together our three vibrant parishes to be a beacon of Christ's Light in our communities and beyond. Entrusted with this light at baptism, we go forth celebrating the sacraments, proclaiming the gospel, and serving the people of God. CPSWC offers both daily and weekend masses across our three parishes of St. Augustine,
St. James, and St. Joseph.

Volunteers are needed at all Parishes for weekly care of the Altar Linens. The care of altar linens is an essential "housekeeping" task for any faith community. It is one of the "behind the scenes" jobs, which help the community prepare for worship by having the essential linens clean and ready. With today's easy to care for fabrics; the task is less time-consuming than when 100% linen was used.
Please click here for more information and contact the parish office if you would like to volunteer.
Our pastorate supports two area food pantries: The South Washington County Food Pantry in Boonsboro, and the Williamsport Food Bank. Please bring your nonperishable food donations when you come to mass. Please be sure that your donations are not expired.
Our pastorate also supports Micah’s Backpack, the initiative that helps students in area schools that experience food insecurity. Backpacks with nonperishable food are distributed to needed elementary/middle school aged children on Fridays so that they have enough to each over the weekends, when they are unable to participate in school meal programs. Needed food items: soups (vegetable, chicken noodle and tomato) mac and cheese, pudding and apple sauce cups, canned vegetables, and pork and beans. There are bins in each of our parishes for your donations to the food pantries and Micah’s Backpack.

Below is a traditional Prayer of Spiritual Communion. It can be prayed if you find yourself unable to receive the Eucharist, or even in the midst of your daily work, lifting up your thoughts to God.
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire
to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated
from You.
Amen.
